Unemployed Again

Did I say I wasn't going to get to watch the cricket? Well, I did watch it. The job didn't really work out and I was only there for 2 1/2 days. It had sounded good on paper but was boring, reasonably stressful and not something I could have done for very long at all. Not without going crazy (or more crazy, depending, perhaps). As it turns out, the person who took my spot is now the 'manager' there-- even more stress. The woman who was managing left very soon after me to go and work in a bank apparently.

I now own a digital SLR camera. I bought it the day before I started my wonderful new job. $1700 all up, with an extra lense, bag, memory card. Works very nicely. All I have to do is get out and use it a bit more. And get used to the idea of snapping every half decent picture I see, seeing I don't have to worry about the cost of printing all the crappy pics I take.

My novel is still moving, though it has slowed down. I'm at about 38k words and for a couple of days, have thought that I was going to be having another of my lullswhere I don't write anythign at all. But thankfully I have worked out a plot point I needed and should be able to keep moving forward. I doubt it will be as quick as I should be moving, giving my unemployment and all, but I won't complain unless I stop complete for a few days in a row.

And cricket is going pretty good as well. I am now averaging 22 with the bat. And... well, we won't talk about bowling. My team is on top of the table at the moment though so that's nice.
